Forbes Ellis, LMFT, CYT, CMT is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, a Child Custody Mediator; Adjunct Faculty at JFK University Graduate School; a Certified Shiatsu Therapist, and a certified Yoga teacher. Most importantly, he is also a dad. His company, California Holistic, is located at SCCTM (the Santa Cruz Center for Traditional Medicine) in downtown Santa Cruz, California. Forbes has an extensive background in Western and Eastern Psychology. He supports children, families, individuals, and couples with life challenges on their journey towards greater peace of mind and happiness. His background includes 3 years as a pre-school teacher, 6 years working with latency-aged (6-12) and adolescents and families; 5 years of Hospice experience, as well as many years working with individuals and couples. He is a member of CAMFT. Forbes is available for training's and workshops on children, adolescent and family health and well-being from the perspectives of both Eastern and Western psychology.

Forbes received his Certificate in Mediation from the Northern California Center for Mediation (NCCM). He has a long standing interest in helping people stay out of court, save money, and focus on children. Forbes specializes in Co-parenting and Child Custody issues. Forbes has been practicing Zen Shiatsu- a Japanese form of bodywork- since 1996 when he was certified through The San Francisco School of Massage. He works successfully with humans, as well as pets, particularly older dogs with hip and walking issues.

In 1995, Forbes was certified as a Yoga Teacher through the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Grass Valley, California. He spent several years of intense study and practice while living and teaching in various Yoga centers internationally. Forbes has since studied many schools of Yoga in order to serve children and adults in a dynamic and holistic way, addressing the whole self.
